In Memory of John Belovarac

John M. Belovarac, Sr.

May 5, 1957 - February 16, 2021

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of our operations manager, John Belovarac. John was incredibly influential in our company and will be greatly missed. His legacy will continue here at Mecal By Starn for many years to come.

John M. Belovarac, Sr., 63 of Cambridge Springs, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in Millington, TN on May 5, 1957, the son of the late Stephen and Mary Frances Belovarac.

John attended General McLane High School and in 1994 joined Starn Tool in Meadville as a toolmaker. John was good at what he did, and as the company grew, so did John's role in it. In 2007, an opportunity arose to partner with a company in Italy, and John was chosen to lead this new endeavor known as Mecal by Starn. As General Manager and Lead Engineer, John became one of the best technical leaders in the Wire Crimping Industry, teaching multiple industry-specific courses and writing numerous articles that were read worldwide. He traveled throughout the Western Hemisphere and Europe and was instrumental in landing companies like Volkswagon, Lear and GM, to name just a few, for Mecal by Starn.

John enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and horseshoes, and was a motorcycling "enthusiast" and home remodeler. He and his wife, Brenda, were members of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, Chapter 193 Christ's Ambassadors, Erie, and with this chapter enjoyed serving with the Kitchen Ministry at Erie City Mission and also participating in Roar on the Shore and other events and rides. He was also a member of the Patriot Guard and Koinonia of Erie County, and a former member of the Millcreek Athletic Association's clown band.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Stephen.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Brenda; a daughter, Abigail (David) Shafer, of TX; four sons, John M. Belovarac, Jr., of Cambridge Springs, David (Abby) Belovarac, of Wyoming, Jesse (Jackie) Belovarac and Joel (Alicia) Belovarac, both of Cambridge Springs; four grandchildren, Katherine and Magnus Shafer and Rylee and Jax Belovarac; a brother, Michael Belovarac, and a sister, Cheryl Grucza.

In 1986, John accepted Jesus as his Savior during a Christian venue at the Warren County Fairgrounds. He was a devoted father, a patient and loving husband, and a devoted man of God, doing what he could for the Kingdom of God.
